ALL ABOUT PRINCE - Addressing The Speculation

As a writer, I've purposely avoiding writing about the rumours surrounding Prince's death. As a fan, my head has conjured up every possible reason whilst my heart weeps daily. Foolishly, I made a comment within a Fan Group on social media and ended up being thrown to the wolves. So until the final results from the autopsy are revealed I will not publicly address any more speculation, but in the meantime I will say this.

FACTS: We know that Prince was suffering from a bout of the flu that caused a reschedule to his Piano & Microphone (P&M) shows in Atlanta, USA.  On the 14th April, Prince two vibrant shows at the Fox Theatre, apologising to the audience for the reschedule.  On a flight back to Minneapolis that night, the pilot had to make an emergency landing in Moline, Illinois as Prince took seriously ill. Hours after being treated in hospital, Prince returned to Minneapolis throwing a party at Paisley Park the following night to show the fans that he was "fine" and telling his audience to "wait a few days before you waste any prayers". The following week he was seen out in his home town riding his bike and shopping in his local 'wrecka stow' (Record Store), Electric Fetus. On Wednesday evening after a visit to a pharmacy (Walgreens), Prince was dropped off at his home around 8PM. Thursday morning after not showing up for an expected appointment, friends (unknown at time of publication) checked in on him, finding him unresponsive in the elevator (lift) at his home. Prince Rogers Nelson was pronounced dead at 10:07 am Minneapolis time.

ALL ABOUT PRINCE SAYS: Although in some pictures, published in recent months Prince looked a little thinner (not that he was ever a beefy build), he appeared to be more healthy and energetic that the average bloke in their late 50s. His P&M dates were selling out, the reviews were outstanding from both critics and fans and bar the cancellation in Atlanta, the only known postponement were the European dates which coincided with the Paris terrorist attacks in December 2015. His passing comes as a huge and devastating shock to AAP and I think I can state on behalf of all the true fans that this press intrusion into the life of someone who was so intensely private is adding to the heaviness of our grief. We all need to know why he was taken from us so soon but the scandalising, hurtful allegations is real nasty, evil shit to do to a man who isn't here to defend himself (I just know Prince would rock out an awesome song out of this madness if he was here). On a positive note, seeing the love around the world for him, his real friends revealing his generosity and his mission to seek a better future for the younger generation, I'm so proud of having his presence in my life and I thank God for shining that purple star over him for all who were blessed to see. However, in the mix of the beautiful tributes, the media hype, The Revolution reuniting, the dispute between his family members and the DOVES crying, there's also a SILENCE that speaks VOLUMES, and that's all I will say, for now.

Rest Well Prince xxx
